The person the gift is for is a huge NY GIants fan. He mentioned that he wanted a signed super bowl jersey that he could frame with a signed photo that he already purchased. When I started looking, there weren’t any available. In addition, I wasn’t going to be able to give it to him already framed in a way that he could later mount the photo with it. So, instead the signed helmet was suggested by some vendors I contacted. I was told that the helmets are a big hit with fans and that they are more valuable b/c the jersey loses value when mounted to the frame. Right when I got comfortable with the idea of the helmet, some of the jerseys were released…. so now I’m stuck. He already has a different signed jersey in his memorabilia collection, but no helmets…???

jersey can display better than a helmet
Jersey because you can frame it and hang it on a wall. A helmet is all 3-dimensional and awkward to display (and protect).
A Jersey can be displayed more easily.. so personally, I’d prefer that. But a helmet is cool too. If you can get something game-worn to be signed, that’s even better.
A helmet is for two reasons: They cost more in the first place, and they don’t show wear(such as discoloring, and deterioration) .
I usually get autographs on something that had meaning…like a ticket to a game I attended. Or a picture taken with the athlete.
But we have the usual stuff too…footballs, jerseys, basketballs, etc.
Depends on the person, but in general a jersey is better than a helmet, easier to display than a helmet. You can also find the player that said person likes. That would probably make it even more special.
You can’t go wrong with either one. I like the helmets better because they can be displayed many different ways. A jersey can only be hung and you can only display one side. They can fade and worse worn and never washed. Yes you can put a regular sized helmet on but you don’t have to worry (as much) about getting it dirty.
go with a jersey
you can’t lose with either one , the jersey you can frame and hang up , but the helmet you can put in a trophy case , with like a light coming from under it
My autographed John Lynch Buccanneer jersey is probably the greatest thing a fan could ever have. But then again, I keep it concealed in plastic, so it doesn’t fade in the light.
